Overall Satisfaction with Linode

We primarily use Linode for Linux servers for Web Applications. Customer-facing web portals allow customers self-service access to software downloads and to manage their licenses. Internal staff publish software installers, create a customer account, and issue licenses.

Linode has a much better range of data center locations than DigitalOcean. DigitalOcean has slightly better pricing and included backups( not extra backup fees like with Linode)
Linode support has been responsive and professional when we have had to contact them. Proactive monitoring would be an advantage if it was available as an integrated offering
Linode is an affordable and performant cloud infrastructure with a decent set of datacentre locations where you can get your cloud project up and running quickly
Uptime is very important, especially for our customer-facing portals. In over 6 years we have only had 2 incidents where customer support tickets were received and the negative customer experience was the result of Linode downtime. Mind you the application was only operating in a single Linode datacentre

Linode Virtual Machines provide us [with a] quick and easy way to deploy web applications. The performance is great for small LAMP stack applications. Getting an application up and running fast is easy with Linode. A load-balanced solution spanning multiple data centers is recommended as Linode downtime though not often can be lengthy.
