Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Hands-on Labs
I have used Microsoft Hands-on Labs for both Sharepoint and Power Platform instructor-led training. The labs allow me to work in real-time in a Microsoft environment alongside an instructor to get real-time feedback. There are also usually scenarios and instructions alongside the lab to tell me what to do and where to go.
Pros
- Actual Microsoft environment to play around with
- Instructions alongside
- Ability to save a session so you don't lose work
Cons
- Copying and pasting can be clunky
- Sometimes the instructions are not accurate
- For some Microsoft tools, it requires you to create a temporary account, which takes some time and is time-consuming
- Have to remember to save or you will lose your environment
- May not be the most user-friendly to initially start
- Real-time feedback with a Microsoft product
- Instructions on the side so you know where you are
- Ability to copy and paste the text into the application (it's a little clunky but it works)
- Has made training more efficient and is better for learner retention
