Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Planner

We use it to keep abreast of projects that our team is working. we track progress, milestones, and communicate dependencies with one another through the tool. It has been easily customized to meet our specific needs and has useful reminder options through Outlook. We love how it is easily linked to SharePoint.

Pros

  • Customizeable
  • Organizes complex projects
  • Communicates deadlines

Cons

  • Even more customization
  • More intuitive interface
  • Link reminders into Teams
  • Efficiency
  • Collaboration
  • Accountability
It is very easy to use and to customize. When we have team meetings it allows for open viewing of everyone's projects, their current status, and milestones. Having everything in one place makes it easily accessible to Leadership if they want to review what the team is working on at any point.
  • Agility
Microsoft Planner is far superior and doesn't require expensive training to give people access to it. It is far easier to customize and allows for people to add projects and milestones without the cumbersome interface that Agility offers. I would far rather use Microsoft Planner than anything else at this point, especially since it can be linked to other Microsoft products.

Do you think Microsoft Planner delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Microsoft Planner's feature set?

Yes

Did Microsoft Planner live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Microsoft Planner go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Microsoft Planner again?

Yes

It is well suited within teams that need to keep track of a number of projects and communicate that progress to one another. It is a lot easier tool to use than Agility and doesn't require Agile training or PI Planning. We like it because all our projects are in one place and we can easily view overlap.

Using Microsoft Planner

200000 - Across the board from Planning to Strategy, Ops to Customer Experience. It is universally used by every department and organization within the greater enterprise which makes it extremely useful for any user. It's integration with other Microsoft products makes it a very economical tool and versatile for any project or role.
1000 - I am not sure on this number as I don't get involved in support.
  • Planning
  • Project Management
  • Strategy
  • Collaboration
  • Cross-functional teams
  • Reporting
  • Design Thinking
  • Brainstorming
  • Accountability
It is a very useful tool that brings teams in sync with one another. The integration with other Microsoft products makes it an obvious choice because you don't have to purchase a license for a completely different tool that doesn't have cross-functional capabilities with the software you already use on a daily basis.

Evaluating Microsoft Planner and Competitors

  • Scalability
  • Integration with Other Systems
The scalability of the application along with its compatibility with other Microsoft products made it the obvious choice. Its intuitive design and customization makes it universally relevant across the enterprise.
I don't know that we would. We are very pleased with the decision and the process we used to select Microsoft Planner.
