Overall Satisfaction with Netwrix Auditor

We use Netwrix as a change tracking tool, primarily to retrospectively look back at who made what change to the group policy or to spot audit active permission changes directly. We also configured Netwrix to send us email notifications if there are any changes made to specific OUs within the Active Directory
. Instant alerts if changes are made to high-profile accounts are our most useful aspect.

Pros

  • Email notifications.
  • Search history.
  • Reporting

Cons

  • Database maintenance.
  • Provides visibility for risk.
  • Allows for retroactive auditing.
Netwrix is easy to use; it has a simple reporting system and modules for each area, e.g., exchange, active directory, and Azure. The user interface is quite basic but easy to navigate and is only seen by administrators anyway. Reports can be generated that are meaningful and in a clear format.

Do you think Netwrix Auditor delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Netwrix Auditor's feature set?

Yes

Did Netwrix Auditor live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Netwrix Auditor go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Netwrix Auditor again?

Yes

Although Netwrix supports Entra / Azure, I`ve limited experience in using it within that environment, and may recommend alternatives such as Sentinel. However, where there is a largely on-premise environment, then Netwrix works very well. Being module-based licensing, you can pick and choose which parts best suit your setup.
