Overall Satisfaction with Oracle ERP Cloud

Oracle Cloud ERP is used as a simple solution to connect the multiple acquisitions Shutterfly has acquired over a period of time. Instead of having an ERP system for each of the organizations and connecting them, we connected the acquired companies using Oracle ERP Cloud.
  • Easy user adoption.
  • Simple UI.
  • Ease of integration with other apps.
  • Cloud comes up with its own disadvantages like unwanted upgrades/ downtime.
  • Initially its hard to convince users to move from on-prem to cloud however over a period of time cloud works great as there are not too many changes with upgrades etc
We were looking for scalable product so Oracle cloud was the best option among available choices
Oracle ERP Cloud is well suited for small and medium size organization that doesn't have lot of budget to support separate infra, system admins, etc.

Decision Factors & Implementation

Yes - Our company was using Epicor ERP earlier which had significant issues to implement the standard Quote to cash and procure to pay processes. We needed a standard ERP system which has no scalability issues for multi site functionality and has no integration issues with other upstream enterprise systems.
This is where Oracle Cloud ERP came with really flying colors, and having it in the cloud reduced a lot of burden on the IT systems and team to let them focus on other standard application and user problem solving.
  • Price
  • Product Features
  • Product Reputation
  • Vendor Reputation
  • Existing Relationship with the Vendor
There is no single important factor while migrating from in house ERP system and selecting from multiple cloud vendors however for us couple of important factors were time to implement and vendor reputation & existing relationship with vendor.
Thats where Oracle came as a first name as we had Oracle PLM software and several databases running on Oracle.
Oracle cloud's ability to provide fusion software for Design to release helped us plan to migrate the PLM system too which proved to be an important strategic decision to get rid of on prem PLM, on prem ERP and PLM-ERP integration adaptor.
This resulted in major cost/ effort saving for IT department.
