Overall Satisfaction with Oracle ERP Cloud

Our entire organization uses Oracle ERP Cloud for all accounting and finance functions. It has allowed us to uptake new features and functionality on a much more regular basis. It has freed our support team up from worrying about servers and infrastructure to focus solely on business functionality and support.
  • Quarterly updates are constantly expanding the feature set and usability of the application.
  • Basic reporting information is easily attainable by business users without the interaction of technical resources.
  • The availability of many products that can be added easily at a later time as the business expands.
  • Usability of the security setups could be improved, modifying/updating security is cumbersome and often a large amount of trial and error.
  • Response of support when the application causes a data problem/error is slow and often hesitant to implement a fix swiftly.
  • The news feed layout that is becoming standard is very focused on HR and leaves Finance users behind in design. This is frustrating for those users as they must acclimate on design without substantial improvement in their main areas of work.
  • Due to lack of user understanding we had to expand our business group by a significant number of users.
  • We no longer require the maintenance cost of servers and the DBA work that was necessary in the previous environment.
  • We are able to much more easily integrate with external applications that previously could not be done quickly.
Oracle Cloud ERP is very much ahead of Oracle EBS in two main areas: User Experience and Updates. The user experience is much more modern and familiar to our user base. The forms based setup of EBS is not nearly as intuitive to those users and causes frustration on a regular basis. Oracle EBS is much more difficult to update and receive patches. Often those patches in EBS have many unknown impacts on the customized EBS environment. This makes it much smoother to handle updates and they work with much less impact on day to day business.
Oracle ERP Cloud is extremely well suited for accounting operations and financial reporting. The system makes it very simple for accounting users to log in and get going from day one. Financial reports can be very specific and output exactly as they need to be shared.

Decision Factors & Implementation

Moving from our 15 year old, unsupported ERP was a critical requirement for the organization. Senior Management viewed it as critical to move to a cloud-based application that would have regular enhancement to support our ongoing business growth. We looked at several options and the overall feature set provided by Oracle ERP made Oracle the clear winner. The ability for business users to run and maintain day-to-day operations with minimal IT support is critical to the lean nature of our organization. Other applications did not offer this ability to the level we desired.
