Overall Satisfaction with Oracle Linux
In my previous experiences, I have worked with Oracle Linux (starting with the Oracle Unbreakable Linux version) across different kinds of organizations (port and logistics, then government). It was used for Oracle Database servers because of the Oracle-oriented optimizations and pre-tuning.
- Oracle-oriented kernel pre-tuning
- Oracle support
- Excellent performance, security and stability
- Graphical interface could be improved
- Excellent for Oracle databases. Inherent security and stability.
- The pre-tuning and optimizations out of the box speed the projects.
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
Oracle Linux and Red Hat Linux are very similar, and the both are great choices. Anyway, the out of the box enhancements that come with Oracle Linux is an aspect to consider if you are using Oracle products.
