Overall Satisfaction with Planview Enterprise One (formerly Planview Enterprise and Troux)

Planview was used by the IT organization to visualize resource demands, project performance, and portfolio metrics. It was also used for time tracking and cost management.
  • Resource planning. This is by far the most flexible system for resource management that I have seen in the marketplace.
  • Planview Enterprise is more than just a portfolio tool for projects. You can manage practically your entire IT organization from ticketing through application lifecycles and assets in one tool.
  • Planview offers a variety of reporting options in different formats.
  • The system is easy to administer.
  • Planview 10.4 didn't have shortcuts to the advanced project management functions through the User Interface. However, this was greatly improved in the current version.
  • While reporting options vary, they are also very disjointed and lack cohesion of presentation.
  • The wide feature set could appear daunting to implement.
  • Request feature could be vastly improved.
  • Transparency and into the work and performance of the entire IT organization.
  • Visibility of support costs that go into keeping the lights on and also the impact to resource demand.
  • Control of internal processes.
Was not involved in the selection process. It was a part of the organization when I joined.
Planview should not be selected if it will be one of many IT applications used to complete work in the organization. It should be used "all up" and eliminate other ancillary systems in the IT landscape, else some users may feel it is a system of oppression versus a system of enablement and productivity.
