Overall Satisfaction with Progress Sitefinity

My company has used Progress Sitefinity since 2009 (back when it was Telerik Sitefinity) to help decrease time to launch our marketing website. With a web development team which has never grown larger than 2 participants, this product allowed us to rapidly deploy our website, with minimal effort. We launched quickly, and the website remained active for 5 years with increased lead generation and sales, month over month, year over year.

When we decided to re-launch our website in mid 2015, we felt that Sitefinity was a great fit for our team. We are a Microsoft shop, but the tools Sitefinity offered greatly lent themselves to help small teams. Wtih this platform we were able to launch our newly polished, responsive website in very short order.

Progress support came into play when we noticed some slowness with our site. We worked with their engineering team to help pinpoint what it was that was causing the slowdown. Support for Sitefinity is easily obtainable, the staff is very knowledgable and they will not quit until you say the issue is resolved.

The issues I have had with support usually were due to my misunderstanding of Sitefinity features/processes.

All in all, I would recommend Sitefinity to any team, not just small team as the framework provided is top notch and the features just keep rolling out quarter after quarter.
  • Ease of implementation
  • Decent documentation
  • Productivity boost to small teams as well as their commitment to new features are reasons enough to recommend this product
  • Minifying Sitefinity closed resources.
  • Sense of urgency in support requests
Sitefinity is well suited for any team size, and perhaps it's because my team is so small, but I would have to say that the integrated, easy to use features lend its ability to rapid deploy to small teams even more.

I would have to say that Sitefinity is less appropriate if planned to be used for an intranet website. I found its user management/permissions ability to be less than ideal.
