Overall Satisfaction with Quosal

The Sales Dept and the Sales Engineers at my previous employer used the program. The best feature was being able to quickly create nice looking quotes with current distributor pricing for reference. The Second best was the ability to re-use quotes for other clients and modify to fit. The WORST feature was the internal editor that would make a hash of formatting and work in unpredictable ways. Far better than nothing but far from ideal!
  • Imports Contacts from Connectwise reducing re-entry and maintaining accuracy.
  • Works with etilize and gets linked to major distributors for current prices
  • The editor is funky, and worse, it will sometimes just scramble pasted Word copy often changing the font size and all of the formatting. Occasionally it even changed the imported keystrokes into something similar to Wingdings. This wastes time and energy and leads to unpredictable results.
  • Random blank pages are added to proposals, basically just annoying in PDFs, and a waste of paper when printed
  • Reducing the time from lead or request to response and proposal always benefits the sales process. A quoting tool will always help and Quosal is eminently usable.
The product was selected by the owner, configured by the owner, taught by the owner and was not optional. The sales staff loved to hate it and became very quickly dependent. Compared to the previous Excel quoting template, Quosal was a vast improvement.
It's a 50-50 likelihood. I'd like to see the product flaws all fixed and the on-line reliability improved. If I find something that works better I'll leap at it to avoid the same frustrations.
Ask about the mechanical processes that lead to quote production. Although sections can be deleted or added, all likely sections are normally included and reducing those each time, one at a time with click to confirm, eats up a lot of time, depending on your web speed, and should have been configured like the lines under the Tabs that can be selected and acted upon with check-boxes all at once. Compare the products under consideration for the step by steps that effect your natural work-flow.
