Overall Satisfaction with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)

RHEL is the main OS used by our team for researchers. The documentations for the RHEL are very easy to find with the subscription. We provide the infrastructure for the researchers to develop their apps.

Pros

  • Easy to use
  • Many online documentations for various issues
  • It's secure

Cons

  • Subscriptions can be expensive
  • Expensive as there are other opensource linux
  • As it is a paid subscription, many researchers are concerned about the cost.
  • Given it's a paid version, the OS runs smoothly.
Overall, I believe RHEL is a very good and secure OS.
As Ansible is under Red Hat, it's easy to incorporate with RHEL servers for the automation.

RHEL is a good linux os but the cost of subscription can be a challenge.
