Overall Satisfaction with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)

We use it both for internal use, running our applications and for our customers. Because we use Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) for our customers the uses are varied.

Pros

  • Ease of patching. The methodology for patching is easier than some other flavors of Linux.
  • Application and database hosting.
  • Integration with cloud providers.

Cons

  • The only struggle I have had is with licensing, with has improved over the past few years.
  • I really don't have any other issues, I am a huge fan.
  • The speed and usability of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
  • has been very helpful in roll outs.
  • The flexibility of the product makes pivoting to other uses straight forward, allowing for reuse of assets.
Troubleshooting is usually very straight forward, and if it becomes too difficult there is always a great support team available.
