Overall Satisfaction with Roambi

Roambi is being used by 500+ user. Mostly for the commercial data - sales details together with contact information. It us used on daily basis by Sales Force agents across the country.

At this moment, we don't have any other alternative, but we don't want to change it.
We used pretty old version, but I know that newer versions have added new functionality (like new views) and support more data source (like Business Objects 4, etc). Also, I like the Roambi support team (quick and very helpful). They will not leave you without answering all your questions or without fixing your problems.

  • Quite easy to install and maitain (just one service to run)
  • Security model integrated with Business Object (in our case this is a big PLUS)
Roambi platform is a good choice if you need to have access to your data without constant internet access. The application can be used in an off-line mode. You need a connection just to retrieve new data. From the other side we noticed the view refresh and downloading performance is quite slow for big amount of data (more than 5MB).

Using Roambi

Our Roambi users are mostly from the "Sales Force" team (Commercial). They contact customers on regular basis. Roambi is used to get informaction about previous visits and calls.
4 - Roambi is quite easy to support. You should undestand basics about Windows services (Tomcat service is use as a WEB server). Also, some scripting skills will be helpfull to install and configure the Roambi platform. For account management, Business Objects admin skills are required. We did not face many downtime of the Roambi application.
