Overall Satisfaction with Sage Accounting

I use Sage Accounting to manage my electrician client. He runs his own electrical company as the main technician. We mainly use Sage to track all expenses and revenue. We also use it to write invoices and track current jobs.

Pros

  • Invoicing system is very user friendly
  • I like the practical setup of the website
  • The banking tab is very convenient and user friendly

Cons

  • Reporting is quite messy and confusing. Often innacurate
  • Editing bills once reconciled isn't possible which can be frustrating when needing to adjust accounts
  • It has had a positive impact by being an easy tool to learn, therefore not wasting time learning new softwares.
  • The banking tab is very basic which helps understand real cash without wasting time
  • The reporting has been difficult to understand and have needed to hire accountants to help out
It's pretty easy to learn if you have experience with accounting softwares. There is always a little bit of a learning curve but generally quite basic
I selected sage for this specific client because his needs are simple and his business is still quite small. My other client who uses QBD has much more complex books so we need a more substantial accounting software.

If your business is in the beginning stages and you need a basic accounting system to help you stay on top of your financials Sage Accounting is great. If you're books are a little bit more complex then I would recommend something else.
