Fully functional and easy to use

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Sage Accounting to manage all income and expenditure across the business. We also use the integration with Sage Payroll to manage all employees. The easy linking with bank accounts and credit cards and the import of bills through email really speed up the process of tracking payments and reconciling accounts.

Pros

  • Links with bank accounts and credit cards to automatically import transactions without needing to upload statements
  • Process bills via email - just set up a rule to forward all invoice emails to Sage Accounting and they are there for you to check and import
  • Easy integration with Sage Payroll to manage salary payments together with payments to HMRC (HM Revenue and Customs) and pension provider.
  • Easy VAT calculations and submission to HMRC

Cons

  • Recurring invoices could be easier to customise to include placeholders that are replaced with name of the month

Return on Investment

  • Low monthly costs for a product that integrates all main accounting functionality together with payroll handling
  • Such a time saver for VAT calculations and submissions
  • Great for running reports at any time of the year to look at how the company is doing

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I am using Sage to watch my numbers. I am not the one directly entering the information, but I needed a way to view my financials. My bookkeeping is done off-site, and it was difficult to monitor what was happening from the reports alone. I can now also monitor my payables and receivables more effectively.

Pros

  • Providing reports.
  • Ease of finding transactions.
  • Navigating the system is simple once your concept is understood.

Cons

  • In some of the reports, I have to change the 999 at the bottom to 0 to access the current information. This could be a setting that, once changed, is set until changed again.
  • Being able to access previous years further than 2 years in reports.

Return on Investment

  • I have been able to understand my numbers better by increasing my revenue by over 15%.
  • Payables have been managed better.

Sage Accounting has helped me streamline my business

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use Sage Accounting for creating invoices, sending estimates and keeping track of A/R. Clients use to have problems paying invoices but now credit card payments are a breeze thank to Sage Accounting and Stripe.

Pros

  • Sage Accounting makes it easy to pay my invoices with an automated QR code that opens a payment portal.
  • Sage Accounting automatically shows my bank account balance and that's pretty neat.
  • Sage Accounting has excellent security with 2 factor authentication and I trust my money is kept safe.

Cons

  • I should be able to print estimates and invoices immediately without having to email and print to a PDF file first.
  • When Sage Accounting offers trials they should last until I get to use them a few times. I used the payroll trial and it expired before I had a chance to use it as I'm very busy running my company.

Return on Investment

  • I spend a lot less time sending out batches of overdue emails and I like how it show exactly how often and when I sent the last invoice.
  • Being able to set up a new customer and send an estate in 5 minutes us a bug selling point.
  • I wish there was more options to download and view my data.

Sage Accounting a solid preformer for small business

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Sage Accounting on a daily basis, using the accounting files that we receive from our clients. Upgrading client files to the latest version is seamless, as is the backup process. The reminders are valuable to ensure that staff complete this process.

We find the Sage Accounting layout easy to follow, with each feature separated into the accounting module so that each is easy to find.

The reporting module is robust. It can link to Excel files and modify the reporting fields.

The live reporting of financial reports is great as it saves time by not having to rerun the report, but instead sees the changes from entries posted instantly.

The drill-down ability also saves a massive amount of time, as it allows the report entry to be drilled right down to the original entry, including opening the invoice, purchase, or pay cheque.

While the ability to recall and adjust an entry is very straightforward, having the full and complete audit trail running in the background provides the assurance that we, as the client's accountant, require.

While entering the invoice, payment receipt, purchase invoice, payment, and payroll is very easy to follow, with each screen resembling a paper copy, having extended features such as project accounting allows our clients to classify entries into divisions of operations or projects.

The bank reconciliation is easy to complete and follow through to determine any differences.

We have been using Sage Accounting since the start of Simply Accounting and refer it to our clients for a solid and viable accounting program.

Pros

  • Ease of flow and use with screens resembling paper copy of forms.
  • Ability to drill down on report to the singlar entry.
  • Project accounting is straight forward
  • Inventory module is very flexible
  • Rock Solid Database with rebuilding options.

Cons

  • More extensive flexibility in reporting linking to excel.

Return on Investment

  • Cost of the program is suitable to the features provided.
  • Upgrading the program is done easily and through in app notification.
