Overall Satisfaction with SAP Business Data Cloud

I work in the space of integrating data from external sources and make the data in standard format to be used by the whole organization. We are using several services like engaging governance model to identify the inconsistent data which comes from external sources and make the data available for downstream reports.

It has business friendly options, governance features and as expected, integration with SAP products. However it feels complex for somebody who is non SAP background and for building lighter reports. There is lot of scope for improvement as compared to in general options available in the market. Otherwise it is best for business cases.
SAP Business Data Cloud (BDC) has very good integration with SAP products. Also (BDC) is designed for business data and provides reusable data models.

As per my working experience, SAP Business Data Cloud is best suited for scenarios where organizations needs to unify SAP and non SAP data. During the process of unifying, SAP Business Data Cloud (BDC) offers data governance and quality resulting in business ready data for reporting and other purposes. However it is still needed some manual work to make it work properly.

12 - They should have mix of functional and technical skill, including SAP Business Data Cloud (BDC)/analytics specialists, data engineers for data integration and modeling and business analysts who understand reporting and data-making needs.

We did not purchase premium support for SAP Business Data Cloud at this time. Our decision was based on our current usage patterns and confidence in our internal team’s ability to handle day-to-day issues, along with the standard support levels already provided. If our usage expands into more complex scenarios or we need faster, dedicated expertise in the future, we may reconsider upgrading to premium support
Yes. During an early implementation phase, we faced a data integration issue involving multiple source systems that was impacting reporting timelines. The SAP support team responded quickly, clearly understood the business impact, and worked closely with our technical team through multiple sessions. They provided a clear root-cause analysis, practical workaround options, and followed up until the issue was fully resolved.
