Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use SAP BTP to run our applications. Our business requirement is to get the data from SAP systems that includes many systems from the landscape and run the analysis on it that will be helpful to make business decisions.
We use cloud connectors, connectivity services, destination services, and many other services from BTP.
BTP is a platform where we need to worry about only the business use cases as all other technical aspects it streamlined.
The BTP platform is offering many services like databases, SAP connectivity, machine learning, scalability, and security.

Pros and Cons

It is handling SAP connectivity very well including on premise connectivity. We can connect on premise oData service, on premise SAP system via RFC functions and many other on premise connections like TCP.
User Authentication via XSUAA service. Very well managed authentication service. Easy to setup and integrate it with our applications.
On-demand service creation via service broker. We don't have to do any setup which may be required on other platforms. Using SAP BTP all our dependent services can be triggered on demand via the service broker and the application will be easily deployed.
It supports MTA application architecture. It is very good in terms of process communication between module. We can easily define process communication and dependent service for any module. This is making our deployment life easier.

It would be good if platform provides more open source services like RabbitMQ. Probably this is in beta mode. I hope that there must be open source service available in the SAP BTP with good support from SAP side.
We feel that support on any issue raised on Incident portal related to SAP BTP is taking longer time. It would be good if we get support quickly from SAP.
Many times we face a slowness on UI of SAP BTP, it would be good if you can improve the platform usage.

Usability

The enterprise-grade solution requires standards to be followed. We are using standard SAP BTP services which makes our applications more compliant from a standard and security perspective. This will help us to sell these solutions to customers as it was built using standard service.

Support Rating

We hope that the response should be quick from the support team. We feel that it is very slow and taking longer time than required.

Alternatives Considered

CloudFoundry and Google Kubernetes Engine

We have used the plain cloud foundry variant also, and there were many problems we faced while running applications on cloud foundry. We have also used the GCP platform to run our applications here also faced many problems.
SAP BTP services and integration of service are strong points to consider it.
