SAP ERP is used by Finance operations as a general ledger, consolidation and reporting system.
- Powerful drill down capabilities to aid in research.
- Able to handle complex organizational structures for consolidation and reporting.
- Able to automate financial functions that other systems could not--multi-currency, ACH, etc.
- Conversion process was complex and difficult.
- Setting up the initial system was very time consuming and complex.
- Increased employee efficiency--ability to automate financial functions; reduced number of checks issued, etc.
- Able to better manage cash outflows.
- Reduced time to close books via greater analytical tools and automated data input.
Parent company decided upon use of SAP and I did not participate in the selection decision
