Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Migrating from Process orchestration to Integration suite. Trying to build all new integrations in IS and migrate integration per integration from PO to IS.

As a integration developer and architect it is fun to work with a new product that offers more capabilities than the older PO platform. There are still use cases that we have in PO that is not supported in Integration suite making a complete migration impossible right now

Pros and Cons

Template based integration
Migration tool for easier scenarios in process orchestration
Graphical iflows that are easy to understand for people that aren't necessarily developers

Support for all the adapters that was supported by process orchestration. NFS Mount etc.
Monitoring capabilities in PO are great, lacking in Integration suite
Unsure about adapter module support that was used in process orchestration scenarios

Return on Investment

In the long run will enable us to undeploy our on premise solution
As long as integration suite doesn't support all capabilities PO has complete migration is hard
Will probably be cheaper than our on premise solution when we are completely migrated

SAP Integration Suite

Easier integration with external vendors. Our old process orchestration on premise solution is well in our local network behind firewalls. Integration suite cloud makes it a lot smoother to integrate over internet to other partners.

The amount of tools offered by integration suite in total far outweighs the tools in process orchestration

SAP Integration suite stacks up well against Azure API Management. We selected Integration suite because we use SAP as our ERP

Likelihood to Recommend

Lots of capabilities for many different integration scenarios. Assesment tool and migration tool are nice products that help ease the transition from process orchestartion to integraiton suite.

Harder to move integrations using custom java mapping classes. As I understand we need to copy paste them and groovify the code.

Free trial is great and easy way to sell the product to the customer as a trial basis (I
'm working as a development consultant)
