Overall Satisfaction with SAP Integration Suite

We use SAP Integration Suite for point to point connections primarily with SAP products. Our current product line is SuccessFactors, Ariba, and S4HANA. SAP Integration Suite is used to deploy iFlows supporting everything from transactional document replication to data/demographic feeds to other systems. Our largest interfaces are used for our identity lifecycle and our transactional replication to support purchasing with Ariba.

Pros

  • Design and build functionality with UI based elements and low-code development.
  • Assessment and integration intake processes
  • Out of the box capabilities with SAP products

Cons

  • Audit logging and job debugging - many rely on third party tools or extensions for debugging and development. Audit logging and monitoring is not robust and requires custom development to support.
  • Runtime processes can be cumbersome to maintain. Artifacts require redeploys for simple edits or one time runs.
  • Development is mainly low-code. Scripting offers alternative solutions, but I would like the ability to see and control more granularly.
  • We were hit by AWS downtime. Allow high availability options OOTB for SAP Integration Suite.
  • SAP Integration Suite has enabled hundreds of thousands of seamless end to end processes for our SAP Cloud Landscape.
We do not use a majority of the cloud to on premise capabilities of SAP Integration Suite, aside from out of the box connectors.
We have not used these capabilities or realized value from these capabilities. This may be due to the priority of maintaining existing integration integrity rather than innovating. I would like to see more awareness brought to these features and use cases.

No

SAP Integration Suite is well suited for cloud and IoT integration scenarios. For standard SAP products, SAP is innovating with prebuilt packages and easy options for integration using SAP Integration Suite. For on premise requirements and for large volume solutions, maintaining control is more appropriate with edge integration cell or with another middleware solution not metered by transaction count.
