Overall Satisfaction with SAP S/4HANA Cloud

We just moved our ERP system from Oracle to SAP in 2024. There have been a lot of issues with the implementation. It was mostly analyzed to be the speed at which SAP was implemented by the SI. On the brighter side, the integration has been seamless between boundary applications when compared to Oracle EBS.

Pros

  • Easy UI that helps onboard new users
  • seamless integration with boundary apps
  • Controlled deployments between development to quality and production environments

Cons

  • More focus towards the regulations surrounding pharma industry
  • Easily executable recall reports to withdraw products from the shelf
  • We have just implemented within the last 2 years. Unable to provide an ROI as we are still going through a lot of issues
The UI is easier to interact with compared to our prior ERP system. Once stabilized, I am sure it would be the better choice between the other ERP system we had (for our business application)

Yes

Well suited in the finance area within our company and RTR/OTC. Areas where compliance such as 21 CFR is involved, there have been issues identified which cannot be directly attributed to the SAP product. Early investigation points towards a rushed implementation that caused a lot of unexpected bugs. If I were to re do it differently, I would take the time to implement using the right SI who has pharma experience before moving into SAP.
