Overall Satisfaction with SAP S/4HANA Cloud

In my previous organization, one of the clients we provided SAP support to was using SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud as their main ERP system, along with SAP Cloud Connector. It was a new implementation, and it was easier for us to follow the clean core philosophy during the project's implementation.

Pros

  • Ease of operations.
  • Ease of maintenance.
  • No hardware issues.

Cons

  • The client should have more access to the S/4 Hana System, especially OS related access will help a lot.
  • The role and responsibilities of SAP support and Client support teams should be better defined.
  • Response from SAP support can definitely be better.
  • Operations have become smoother.
  • Cost of human capital has reduced significantly.
  • The system is more reliable in terms of uptime.
Usability is one of the strongest points in favor of SAP S/4 HANA Cloud. It has made running SAP systems efficient and reliable without much dependence on Human capital or third-party clients. Processes have also been simplified, and it is easier to do things in general, especially with new-age capabilities like Joule.

  • Ease of Use
The single most important factor for the adoption of SAP S/4 HANA Cloud would hands down be scalability and ease of use. It is only a matter of time before enterprises use SAP applications like just another software without the worry of maintaining elaborate technical teams in-house.
As of now we are experimenting with Joule and very soon it should become an integral part of day to day use.
We selected SAP S/4 Hana Public Cloud for its ease of use and easy deployment options.

I believe that for clients who do not have a very complex existing system or do not have multiple systems in the landscape can go for SAP S/4 HANA Public Cloud implementation, as it would free them of multiple hassles and might even be economical in the long run if they are able to optimise their operations. For everyone else, this might not be the best available option out there.
