Overall Satisfaction with Shift

I manage multiple inboxes, which was originally why I started using Shift. This has since evolved into various workspaces with unique tech stacks and has revolutionized my productivity. I'm able to get more done in less time just by having the apps I need, and nothing else to distract me from the task at hand. I love that I can be signed into 2 different accounts on the same app depending on the workspace I'm in.

Pros

  • Organizes workspaces with a unique set of apps for each space
  • Enhances the functionality and accessibility of the Google suite
  • Reduces the toggling time between apps and tasks

Cons

  • I am often signed out of apps that I use frequently, which may be a limitation of the app rather than of Shift
  • Bring back the unified calendar option!
  • Bring back the ability to open a new tab in our default browser -- I realize this is trying to keep everything within the Shift app, but sometimes I need to simply use a regular browser.
  • I feel more organized and in control of my email and my calendar, being able to see everything in a unified app, but separated into spaces.
  • I do need to remember to close this app during deep work sessions, or it is impossibly distracting...between emails, slack messages, band notifications, etc. It is a notification farm so boundaries are important.
  • I love it so much I have a subscription for everyone on my team so they can peacefully manage their roles in the organization, and the many hats they wear in other aspects of their lives.
Shift is a much more streamlined way to manage the Google suite. I love that my inbox, calendar, and drive are easily accessible and (almost) always signed into so I can move quickly between the apps. I can also see the other apps I need to use daily (Slack, Circle, ClickUp, LinkedIn, Canva, etc.) instantly in the same window. It's just such a seamless workflow!
I've already touched on this in previous answers, but the unified workspace really helps to reduce the time I'd normally spend toggling between apps & tasks.
It would be a 10/10 if I wasn't randomly signed out of things so often. I realize this may be a limitation of the apps and not of Shift itself, but that is my one gripe...however, it's quite easy and quick to sign back in so it's something I can live with.

Do you think Shift delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Shift's feature set?

Yes

Did Shift live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Shift go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Shift again?

Yes

If you manage multiple inboxes, this is a no-brainer. I would recommend this to any VA, or really any modern human who likely has a personal inbox and calendar, work, volunteer, kids sports...it allows you to keep the various aspects of your life separate but easily accessible in a single view.
