Overall Satisfaction with StarWind HyperConverged Appliance (HCA)

We needed a solution to our ever-growing server racks. We previously had a small implementation of ESXi on a single host and many physical servers. We were looking for a solution that would help consolidate all of the physical servers and allow us to scale easily in the future.

We had a drive failure on one of our hosts. StarWind support notified us almost immediately after the failure happened. After some basic troubleshooting with StarWind support over the phone, they worked directly with Dell to provide a replace drive NBD. Support has proactively reached out to us to install software updates to our hosts. This has been a simple and quick process.
Over the past four years, we have experienced zero downtime related to StarWind HyperConverged Appliance (HCA) solution. We can easily migrate virtual machines to perform maintenance on the hosts. It has worked flawlessly. We have brought down a host multiple times to add RAM and SSD drives and have experienced zero downtime while doing so.

I would highly recommend StarWind HyperConverged Appliance (HCA) for small to medium-sized businesses. StarWind HyperConverged Appliance (HCA) can easily be scaled with the additional hosts to support businesses small and large. We currently have two hosts and can easily add more hosts in the future if need be. It is also a very budget-friendly solution.

Using StarWind HyperConverged Appliance (HCA)

2 - Two IT team members are responsible for maintaining StarWind HyperConverged Appliance (HCA). StarWind HyperConverged Appliance (HCA) requires very minimal time from an administrator standpoint. We occasionally look at resource requirements and make sure we have enough headroom when adding new VMs into the mix. On a larger scale, all users in the company benefit from having our servers hosted in the HCA cluster.
1 - Very little knowledge is needed to support StarWind HyperConverged Appliance (HCA). Support is a phone call or email away. They will help over the phone or remote assist at any time during the day. With the 24/7 monitoring, they often know about problems before our staff does. This has freed up a large amount of time for our admin team.

It is very simple to use and just simply works. We have had zero issues with our HCA appliances. In the future, we will likely look into a 3-node cluster instead of a 2-node for increased storage space and speed. From quote to implementation, it was a very simple and straightforward process.
