Overall Satisfaction with StarWind Virtual SAN

The initial tests were simple to implement (without pleading with salespeople for a POC because a free version was available), and the documentation was correct and enjoyable to read because it was written by a tech (and wasn't hidden behind a pay/registration wall). We utilize the HA storage solution for HVs.We are a small to medium-sized business that cannot justify spending tens of thousands of dollars on suitable HA storage for a failover cluster with two nodes. As a result, StarWind's vSAN was profitable right away. We were coming from an S2D implementation that already caused us a ridiculous amount of headaches (bugs, performance stalls, "we know what's best for you" automatisms), was slow and difficult to manage and troubleshoot, and had the most annoying documentation ever written by human beings.

The product is easy to deploy and cost effective.
We have found the solution surprisingly simple to use. The management
console allows us to monitor the solution and we have configured email
alerts to alert us about critical issues. These alerts have been proven
to work in an actual failure scenario, for example, when we had a memory
issue with one of our servers that caused the entire server to crash.
The management console also allows us to monitor the solution
performance and provides us with access to system logs.

The installation process is simple as pie. The configuration file is duly referenced. (you can do most things via GUI, just some things are set in the main config file).When implementing, do not hesitate to use the iSCSI Powershell commands (the Windows defaults from Microsoft). It is far more appealing than using a GUI to click.
