Overall Satisfaction with SUSE Linux Enterprise Server

Good Documentation, easy CMD Administration , built in Graphic UI Administration. The customer support is very great - responds fast and has a great knowledge.
The knowledge base is also a real timesaver, shoutout to SUSE for that one.
It really helps out in our daily work.
Deploying SUSE was getting easier if you know about the generalizing tool that cleans up you images.
But even without an image implementing and administering SUSE Linux Enterprise Server is really easy. We use SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for hosting our Linux infrastrucure on it. We also do use SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 4 SAP, which also works really well.

Pros

Cons

  • YaST has some different ALT + (letter) codes in every submenu
  • Sometimes it is difficult to change repositories
  • Easy to manage
  • SALT integration is great
Because it really is easy useable.
We have no problems with it, if so, we consult the documentation. The docs are really great and helpful, if they don't cover your question at all, the support is fast responding, great, helpful and has a big knowledge for every case. We are really happy!
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server works well with the SUSE Manager, it really simplifies everything.
We also do have SUSE 4 SAP, and the SUSE Manager is able to manage them all, even other (up to date) Linux distributions. Patching has never been that easy and the SALT integration is also working without any problems.

We use it for every linux service we need to have running. It really works great and is easily manageable with the SUSE Manager, which helps a lot with the updating process. Although it is not stressfull on the CMD itself, it really does simplify things. Besides that, we are really happy with working with SUSE Linux Enterprise Server.
