Overall Satisfaction with TIBCO BusinessWorks
TIBCO BusinessWorks is majorly used in my project for Application Integration and Order Management. Varied applications are integrated to each other using TIBCO BusinessWorks. Also We use BusinessEvents along with BW for Order Management and Progression.
We are using the following TIBCO products:
TIBCO RV
TIBCO Hawk
TIBCO Enterprise messaging service (EMS)
TIBCO Business Events
TIBCO Designer
TIBCO Admininistrator
TIBCO JRE
Tibco JDBC plug ins
TIBCO iProcess engine
All the above TIBCO products are integrated in a cluster (basically within a network) and the communication between the softwares happens either by EMS or by RV.
We are using the following TIBCO products:

All the above TIBCO products are integrated in a cluster (basically within a network) and the communication between the softwares happens either by EMS or by RV.
- TIBCO BW is used to host a webservice where the .NET application on the upstream will post request on to the SOAP webservice in TIBCO BW and it will be sent to downstream for processing.
- Tibco BW is used to consume webservices from third party and get the required information and send that back to the requestor.
- BW is also used to interact with TIBCO SmartMapper which makes our work simpler.
- TIBCO BW can also be used with any of the messaging platforms like IBM Message Broker, Apache Kafka and many more.
- TIBCO BW misses the Business Process Management integration within itself which would be more helpful in the case of order management.
- BW could also have integrated monitoring within itself which would be more handy for users.
- BW should also inculcate the EMS into itself as a single strategic software.
- TIBCO BW has only positive impact when it comes to ROI.
- We observe that after implementing our application with BW, it is more stable.
- TIBCO BW negative impact is that since the license is limited to number of CPUs, it's quite hard to understand for users.
We have used java, .NET for visual creation and even IBM tools for integration flows. But BW is the best we can see. BW implementation is very simple and easy to carry out. The simplicity of the BW designer is also one point to mention. It makes BW more addictive.
BW has all the capabilities when it comes to data handling. Data mapping is made simpler with BW. We have adequate palletes in TIBCO BW designer which makes data mapping easy. Also we have TIBCO smart mapper software which will have mapping within itself using an Entity Relationship model which will also help in data mapping.
Testing the completed BusinessWorks process is also very easy in Desginer. We have a built-in tester within the BusinessWorks designer which can be used to trigger the required flow. The flows can be tested individually as well as on whole application. This makes the debugging work simpler.
