Overall Satisfaction with TIBCO BusinessWorks

My company is a Tibco Gold Partner and we have a strict collaboration with Tibco PSG. We trust in their expertise and we work together for reaching the best results for our customer. It is used across the whole organization where an integration layer is needed. Both in on-premise architectures and in cloud ones. It is used also to integrate external platforms as SAP, Salesforce and other major vendors platforms.
  • It is a graphical tool allowing developing complex integration flows without having a deep knowledge.
  • It has a big community able to support developers.
  • It can be enriched adding custom palette built in Java.
  • The debug perspective should be improved adding graphical elements showing test results.
  • On-premises deployment environment is not easy to maintain.
  • An exporting format in Visio for analysis features should be useful.
  • It has a good impact when proposing it to customers but it is not so fast for large implementation.
Tibco BusinessWorks is very easy to use for projecting integration flows because of it reflects flow chart basic developing.
Drag & drop mapping features is the best way to compile, monitor and verify data transformation and enrichment sent to integration stakeholders. It is better than other products because it helps with casting formats and schema representation.
It is not so difficult to test integration flows thanks to the possibility to add breakpoints to monitor variable values and data exchanged during flow execution.
I used Oracle SOA Suite tools because a customer was just using it and I experienced some differences regarding data manipulation and mapping. I needed to write Java code for developing some complex mapping. In Tibco BusinessWorks it would not be necessary.
It is well suited for SOAP and REST integration. It is not appropriate for large back end activities.
