Overall Satisfaction with TIBCO BusinessWorks
I used to support TIBCO BW for a retailer client. They used to use TIBCO across the whole organization, but they are switching from TIBCO to IIB. There is nothing wrong with TIBCO. The only complaint from the client was the price of the TIBCO product. Even though they might end up spending more for support on IIB, they do not seem to see it now.
Pros
- TIBCO is very easy to use. User friendly.
- Trouble shooting is very straightforward. You can figure out the issue from designer very easy.
- If something goes wrong with the process, it is easy to reprocess the data most of the time.
Cons
- TIBCO is a pretty expensive product.
- It seems like there are a lot of issues for BW 6 so far.
- The Client used it to connect to eCommerce which brings in a lot of profit.
- For a period of time, the system was using TIBCO BW and IIB. It seems BW runs better than IIB.
- TIBCO is a middle man. It can see processes between integrations which is an advantage but also a disadvantage. When something happens, another team usually comes to the TIBCO team. TIBCO team usually can help to find out the source of the issues.
I have learn Mulesoft. The application seems more focused on online services. IBM IIB is a free application, but it seems you need to spend more money to support it. It might need more time to make the product more efficient and user friendly. TIBCO BW is easy to get into it. Easy to support. Only problem is price for the product also higher.
