Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I am the only one who uses it. We do data analysis, wrangling, and data quality spot checks with Spotfire. It also aids us in our quarterly reserves process, where it is necessary to tie in historical costs, profit, forecasts, etc., with forecasts in our reserve database. The 'combine tables' feature is very helpful with this.

Tableau Desktop

Spotfire is the default BI tool used in the oil and gas industry. I have briefly used Tableau but not enough to make an accurate comparison.

Return on Investment

Spotfire has returned a great ROI. It has helped us find several million dollars in value by helping us accurately account for reserves.

Training Types Used

Self-taught

I have not had any formal training. That said, it would be helpful for Spotfire to have a helpline. The forum is somewhat helpful but I would be interested in paying for a helpline.

Integrations with other TIBCO products

No - I am not aware of any integrations.

Likelihood to Recommend

Again, Spotfire is great when multiple sources of data need to be compiled. It is less suited for GIS purposes - even though that feature exists within Spotfire.

It is important that Spotfire add more formatting features. We use the charts for presentations but are having a hard time actually formatting adequately.
