Overall Satisfaction with Ubuntu Linux
We use it as an inexpensive yet nearly indescribably helpful tool. It’s rock solid which is something that I’ve never heard someone say about Windows Server. Ubuntu Linux is practically the default setting for data science projects that are web app deployed.
- Secure.
- Stable.
- Ubiquitous.
- Free.
- Not sure they can improve.
- Hire developers to make more.
- Ubuntu Linux as a virus to take over and delete Windows Server and have it be replaced with Ubuntu Linux.
- We spend time building the app vs dealing with a dumpster fire of problems that Windows Server creates.
- It has a learning curve but so does everything.
- The flags can be a challenge to learn for Ubuntu Linux terminal running headless.
It was free, it’s well known to be stable and has near zero issues that we can’t solve with Bash or other simple shells.
