Overall Satisfaction with Unique Learning System

I use Unique Learning System as a high school special education teacher.
Unique Learning System is the basis for our curriculum for our Special Education - Extensive needs students for my school district.

Pros

  • Has various levels for different abilities level.
  • Provides curriculum for all subject areas.
  • Has the ability for teachers to assigned individual assignments for students.

Cons

  • Accessing the different areas of Unique Learning System is very convoluted. I would like to be able to have a printout of all available lessons (courses).
  • The contact of the lesson is well done but VERY limited. There should be a button to press to vary the problems when ever wanted by the teacher. Example Lesson 19 Addition, I would like to be able to change the problem by pressing a but that would change a problem from 2+4= to 6+1=.
  • Access to remedial skills should be more readily available. As a high school teacher, I only have access to the the High School band. I still need many skill/lessons for my lower ability students that are only available in the elementary band.
  • The numbering of and organization of Unique Learning System lessons makes no sense. Why does math lessons start on lesson 19? Each subject should have its own category that begins with lesson 1.
  • The lesson tracking and benchmarks have has been valuable for student work records.
I have used Unique Learning System for 5+ years and have found that I piece meal the whole program for my needs because accessing the different areas of Unique Learning System can be very confusing.
- Unique Learning System has been very useful in recording student lessons to track progress.
- Lessons are very repetitive which could be fixed if I could simply be able to change the question when needed for repetitious practice. (2+2= to 5+1=).
I have used the BASICS before. The BASICS was more of a framework than a curriculum.

Would you buy Unique Learning System again?
