Overall Satisfaction with Unique Learning System

I use Unique Learning System in my multi-grade classroom for students ages 5-11, who are working on academic content at a pre-academic-3rd grade levels.

Pros

  • appropriate content for students with significant delays
  • Ample content
  • Varied supports and levels of work
  • Ability to create visuals to pair with other content

Cons

  • You absolutely 100% need an app so I can limit options for. my students so that I can encourage independent work.
  • Math program is weak, needs more variety
  • Add higher level math courses, similar to the reading courses offered
  • Been able to better gauge non-speaking students prior knowledge
  • Exposure to grade level content at appropriate instructional levels
  • Lots of visuals that save time when I am creating my own content
I am still learning a lot of the systems. I love that I can plan and it will assign the work automatically for me. This would be especially amazing if you had an app. This way my students could practice these skills independently while teachers/other staff work with other students or complete other tasks.
Unique Learning System has been an absolute game changer when it comes to writing progress reports! After a student completes a benchmark, I can use the generated statement (with a few tweaks) for my progress report comments. Super time saver!!!
Unique Learning System is so close to being an answer that many are searching for. The technology side of the program is why I do not rate it higher. This is a product created for students who are functioning at lower levels across several domains. The time we have to wait for a page to load, or that I have to refresh a page is extremely frustrating for my students, and will sometimes completely demolish there focus and resolve. I would also love an app, as I have stated. It would also be nice if, on benchmarks, students could not move on to the next question without selecting an answer.
I did not use their online platform, but the content was really good, and it had similar qualities as the strengths of Unique Learning System. The content was laid out in a simpler manner, and the lesson plans were a lot easier for teachers to use. The math, science, and social studies options had more to offer than Unique Learning System

. I believe that they also have an app. This is a big enough issue that I may be petitioning my district to use it instead of Unique Learning System.
