Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Veeam Backup for AWS our Amazon Elastic File Storage. We are required to keep a secondary backup copy of specific data.

Return on Investment

One negative impact has been the subscription based licensing and price increases
cost effective object storage has helped increase the ROI.
Being able to handle multiple environments from the same console is helpful in managing backups

Reliability and Availability

There has never been a time when I have not been able to recover data back to where it needed to go. We have used file-level and image based restore without issue to original and different locations.

Alternatives Considered

I haven't used others. Veeam Backup for AWS has been the only offering I have used. It does everything I need it to do and more, so there has been zero reason to evaluate other products.

It is great for cross-account and cross-region backups and recovery. Also, it is easy to calculate costs and it is very cost-effective. Specific file recovery is easy and quick after a file has been deleted. The ability to encrypt and be protected from ransomware is essential.
