Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365

With many years of experience with Veeam on-prem, moving to their cloud product was a no brainer. Initially we had to wait for the release of backup-to-azure storage but with this implemented everything has been great.

Like most backup products, data gets backed up, painlessly, and it all just works.
  • Backups.
  • Restores.
  • It would be nice to have it as an app rather than requiring a VM to host the infrastructure.
  • We needed backups of our cloud, and this was the piece that my managers needed to know I implemented to get cloud migration approved.
O365 only has 90-day data retention by default. My users often want data much older than that, and so I need to store data longer than O365 gives me access to.
It's simple, good, green, and works.
As of yet, we haven't restored data for retrieval requirements, but backups running nightly, data is stored, and everything I expect from a backup product is delivered.
They are largely the same. Backupify had no plans for Azure VM backups in the box. Veeam, while currently not supporting this, have a roadmap.
