Great way to add additional assurance for Office 365 and exchange at minimal cost

Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365 provides our organization with some additional assurance that our assets that sit within Microsoft platforms are secure, while fulfilling necessary compliance requirements for data backup. The per-user pricing of the service is also quite competitive, providing minimal overhead per account per month, while allowing us to scale up/down as needed.

Third party backup for Office 365 provides us with additional assurance that instances of accidental deletion of files, internal threats (such as malicious deletion), external threats (such as ransomware attacks), catastrophic failure of cloud services and inadvertent data corruption are sufficiently mitigated. It also fulfils internal compliance requirements on this topic as well.

Veeam Backup [for Microsoft Office 365] has provided us with the assurance that malicious and accidental deletion / corruption of data is sufficiently mitigated. '1 click' and brick level restoration options has helped us recover things like specific e-mails at a moment's notice. It also provides us with the assurance that any foreseeable migrations in the future will be partially streamlined as we now have an intermediary repository on-hand.

In addition to benefitting from brick level backup and restore, We have also made use of the ability to archive, export and retain complete mailboxes as PST files. This allows us to, for example, attach mailboxes of previous employees to team members to locate critical correspondence or provide on-machine access to archived mail for current employees.

Brick level backup and restore is probably the most intuitive feature for us. The ability to restore individual items saves alot of time and effort for things like accidental deletions or corrupted data.
The ability to browse repositories at specific points in time has also been useful for root cause analysis and internal investigations.
