Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Backup & Replication

We use Veeam Backup & Replication in-house for our own infrastructure as well as manage it for a number of our customers.

Pros

  • Replication Failover
  • Off-site backup copy to our cloud connect infrastructure
  • VBR console manageability

Cons

  • The ability to automate backup verification. Currently to verify backup validity we have to do a file level restore and extract a file manually.
  • Simplified the manageability for our tenants
Of our own infrastructure we have two servers with about 20 virtual machines. We also manage over 100 virtual machine backups for our customers.

About what we expected.
We utilize a tape library for our longer term storage. Veeam allows backups to tape to be trivially easy.

Much better console usability
Acronis Backup
It is well suited for a range of scenarios, primarily for managing the backup and replication of the whole server environment.

It is less suited for backing up just one station. VEEAM Agent works better there instead of the whole vbr suite.
