Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Backup of all Hyper-V VMs and Windows Servers for the whole company.

Pros and Cons

Very simple Hyper-V backup.
Very simple restore process.

Never got the Linux agent installation to work.
There should be a recommendation for how big the cache partitions should be.

Return on Investment

Cost saving backup & recovery solution for virtual server environment.
Extra investment into other software for Linux backup is needed.

Alternatives Considered

Acronis Cyber Backup

Lower license cost compared to Acronis.

Very simple installation on a Windows Server and very simple creation of backup jobs for Hyper-V virtual machines. Easy to use and has a fast restore process. But the Linux agent, especially the Veeam Snap package, won't install on Ubuntu, so it's absolutely unusable for Linux root servers.

Good backup solution, but there's still room for improvement
