Veeam Backup & Replication

Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Backup & Replication

Veeam Backup & Replication is used across the entire organization to back up all company data and send it to our DR site.
  • Virtualized workloads
  • Cloud-hosted VMs within AWS or Azure
  • Application-centric recovery using Veeam Explorers (for Exchange, SQL, Sharepoint, etc)
  • Capacity Tier to store data within object storage for longer term retention
  • Utilizing backup copies for secondary purposes via DataLabs
  • Automating test restores to validate recoverability
  • Utilizing backup copies for secondary purposes via DataLabs
  • Veeam Backup & Replication explorers allow for instant file browsing and recovery
  • Integrates seamlessly with vCenter and SAN
  • Backups are contained within their own job folder structure
  • Error reporting--Warnings should be optionally suppressible; some warnings I would class as more informational than actual warnings (Backup copy jobs exceeding interval times, for example)
  • Stopping a job can sometimes take longer than expected
  • Removing temporary snapshots can be very slow
Used to backnup a high number of workloads, far more than originally anticipated; as our needs grow Veeam Backup & Replication meets them.
  • Veeam Backup & Replication makes restores so easy that it has made backup recovery a regular task rather than a daunting one.
  • Veeam Backup & Replication has saved us on a number of occasions.
We changed to Veeam Backup & Replication when we redesigned our backend infrastructure. We needed a recognized product that we could trust. The difference is night and day--the previous backup strategy was time-consuming and unreliable. I would highly recommend Veeam Backup & Replication.
We have used Veeam 365 for Azure/365 backup, and as that product is not as mature as Veeam Backup & Replication, we still use Veeam Backup & Replication to copy the 365 backups to our DR site.
Very easy to use and a recognized market leader; it just works, and their support team is great should you have any questions or issues.
