Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Data Platform
We use it to create backup images of our virtual servers to a local NAS and restore them (or, more rarely, individual files) should we encounter any trouble.
- Highly configurable
- Dependable
- Backups
- UI update interval (like charts, copy speed update) is a bit slow.
- Starting backups takes a while, doesn't really explain what it's doing.
- Backups fail/warn for a lot of misc reasons, so a lot of time is spent diagnosing these (like the dreaded "Failed to index guest file system. VSSControl: Index failed").

- Endpoints and physical servers running Windows & Linux
- Cloud-hosted VMs within AWS or Azure

This is about what we expected, as we have a lot of virtual (and a few physical) servers that are responsible for different tasks.
- Ability to restore images following server crash.
- Ability to restore individual files that were accidentally deleted or lost.
- Peace of mind that we have reliable backups.
Veeam was included in our initial server package for the last server we purchased. We purchased a new license along with a server upgrade we did recently, as the old version wasn't compatible with Hyper-V.
We have not utilized this yet, but I am planning to set this up soon.

It came with the server we purchased. It's worked fine over the years, so we will keep using the platform.
