Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Vertex for sales transactions to help ensure that the rate of tax being charged is accurate, we use it for both US and Canadian transactions. Along with ensuring the accuracy of the tax rate being charged, we use Vertex to help manage the taxability of equipment throughout the US and Canada.

Return on Investment

Vertex maintaining the correct sales tax rates, we don't have to worry about making sure we do it in house.
Certificate Management helps to maintain the records in one place, this is a big help with audits.
Returns processing helps to make sure we get all returns filed on time and accurately.

Vertex Tax Accuracy

For the most part Vertex's tax calculations have been accurate, there have been very few times that we have had an issue the accuracy of sales tax. The few times that we have an issue with accuracy, Vertex has been able to get the problem resolved quickly, with minimal impact to our day to day operations

Usability

With the help of Vertex, the manual tasks that were related to sales tax reporting and tracking have been greatly reduced, this has also helped to increase the accuracy of reporting and tracking of information, which has helped out immensely with sale tax audits.

We sell to the majority of states, with the differing reporting requirements for states, cities, counties, etc., the information and reports Vertex is able to provide, makes it easier to provide the correct information, to the correct jurisdictions. Also, Vertex maintaining the correct sales tax rate takes the pressure off of having to do that function in house.
