Vertex Indirect Tax O Series

Overall Satisfaction with Vertex

We use Vertex for VAT and US Sale tax. VAT is used for all transaction related to EMEA transaction ( Sales and Purchase). US sales tax is used for US and Canada only for Sales trnasactions

Pros

  • Tax rates and changes are automatically update as and when changes are effective in multiple countries
  • Vertex support mechanism is very good, any issues or tickets are handled well within the timelines
  • Integration of the Vertex system with ERP system is also very good

Cons

  • Vertex can do well in Tax reporting
  • Vertex needs to improve the country based Tax filing reports. We still rely on Tax Specialist to file the returns
  • We had implemented Vertex in 2016 and have upgrade the system twice . The ROI has accomplished in 2019
  • The indirect tax team managing tax has been reduced from 10 person to 2 person.
  • The Technical team supporting the system has been reduced from 5 to 2
Vertex handles almost all tax scenarios without modify the Native ERP systema and covers about 18 countries. Since 2016 we have corrected our AR invoice only twice , so we can say Tax rates applied over various tax scenarios are very accurate
Since Vertex has solution that can be extended in multiple countries across countries . We do not need tax experts in every countries we roll out our products and services . Once the implementation is done and system are test , it works as a well oiled machines
Since the Tax rate maintained are automated in a Cloud version, most of the hard work is managed by Vertex. That is very limited manual work involved in managing tax related activities

Value of Money, Since all the tax updates and automatically handled , we do not need to have costly resources managing the task.
The implementation of Vertex in a new step takes about 3 mths and its ROI can be achieved withing 2 yrs
