Overall Satisfaction with Zscaler Internet Access

All end user workstations have Zscaler Internet Access(ZIA) running to control what sites and cloud apps can be accessed. We also use it to validate SSL Inspection.

Pros

  • The depth that Cloud App control policies can go into. Being able to control individual actions within an application, more than just all or nothing access.
  • The UX/UI design makes it really easy to navigate the portal.
  • Understanding how cloud app/url control policy gets evaluated and creating/editing existing policy is extremely straightforward.

Cons

  • Exporting logs can be troublesome. Completely different places to export normal web traffic logs, firewall logs, etc.
  • UI is sometimes clunky to load. Trying to activate changes doesn't always work, have to reload page multiple times.
  • ZIA has drastically increased our end user security. Dropped phishing failures by over 45%.
There are many amazing things about ZIA's usability, but there will always be downsides to any product.
ZIA has full SSL Inspection, while CheckPoint did not.

Zscaler Internet Access(ZIA) is well suited in the event that you have an entire genre/category of the public internet that you do not want your corporate users to interact with. ZIA makes it very easy to make sure those types of sites fitting in those malicious or unwanted categories never get accessed.
