Overall Satisfaction with Miro

We use it within the product team. As a product manager, I use it mostly for road mapping so I can keep track of what my team has planned in a visual way that I can easily show to stakeholders. I also use it to run workshops with stakeholders and members of my team, as we can all collaborate at the same time. The business analyst in our team uses it to break down their analyses and tasks - for example, all of the processes involved in a product feature or how a product may have to connect with an existing technical infrastructure. As a department, we use it for PI Planning, too.
  • Collaboration - a remote team can all use it at the same time.
  • Responsive - very smooth use, loads immediately for all users, and easy to Zoom in and out.
  • Convenient - side bar is easy to use and intuitive.
  • Can't create and save templates.
  • Can't easily transfer data in or out.
  • Still a bit hard to use for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Easy to understand visual roadmaps for stakeholders, saves time creating new things for them if you can constantly update.
  • Reduced project completion time as we can host virtual workshops.
  • Easier collaboration, which saves time.
No implementation is needed; it is easy to plug in and play. It's a small learning curve for some less technical people. But overall, it is easy to use, easy to share and invite others to use with you, and quick to set up an account and begin using. For those who use it, there are tutorials and demos.
It makes it very easy to collaborate - either by participating in workshops with stakeholders or hosting retrospectives with the team. It makes it easy to present business analysis work visually and within the same board (rather than having to go through loads of slides or documents). It is also easy to catch up with stakeholders as you can update roadmaps quickly and use Miro as a living document.
Figma and FigJam tend to be the choices for the designers I have worked with, but it can be a bit intimidating for those who are not technically literate. Slack's whiteboard feature hasn't really taken off with our team, and if we do use it, it is to quickly present something in a huddle. Neither is as easy to use and responsive as Miro. And the complexity of Figma/FigJam makes Miro a better choice for our needs.

Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Miro's feature set?

Yes

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

Suited to road mapping, workshops, retro's, business analysis, feature breakdown, and architecture/infrastructure mapping. Not suited to long-term projects or group work within Miro, as it is hard to import/export. Suited to short projects, meetings, or demos.
