NaviPlan by Advicent vs. eMoney Advisor vs. FactSet Workstation

NaviPlan is an invaluable financial planning tool. There are so many strategies and reports that can be built and used within the software. I've been using it for around 8 years and still don't how to use all of the functions. It has come a long way over the 8 years in terms of functionality. There is a definite learning curve, however, I've found it has become more user friendly.

Financial planning provides clients with benchmarks for achieving their financial goals regardless of whether their needs are simple or complex. The client portal allows clients to access their data through an efficient and transparent process, which helps strengthen the relationship between client and firm. The account aggregation software gives clients a complete picture of all transactions and details.

Well suited to setting up watchlists of securities that you want to monitor as well as displaying organization specific information within the watchlist such as ‘target price’ and ‘recommendation’ which is very useful when managing portfolios. Also well suited to delivering tailored company and economic news articles to your workstation so that you get targeted information relevant to your role

• Budget planning, risk management, and other account management become easy and simpler to analyze by the top management.
• Tax calculation and other payments become easy for the organization as well as individual employees.

• Easy/clear UI for navigation
• Easily find and sort through financial filings to get to the data
• Document search functionality seems to be improving consistently with more robust features

• Much favorable for small industries, so better to make it good for large enterprise also.
• Illustration can be made easy so that quick understanding can be done.
• Tracking of the particular item is a bit difficult, this could be made easier.
• Not much user friendly compared to the competitors. But does the job well.

• The user interface on stock monitor needs work - sometimes I wish to clone the same fields to another tab/watchlist and it appears the best way to do so is recreate it form scratch
• transcript to be more timely and more accurate
• on the consensus financial forecast tab, have more segment breakouts like Visible Alpha

We need the FactSet data and capabilities to complete 75% of the financial analyses that we complete for both internal and external purposes. It is invaluable and I am not aware of any other provider that would be able to fill this gap that FactSet does

It does everything I need. It is pretty user friendly and easy to work with whatever technology interface I am using (desk top, notebook, tablet, or mobile phone). I am able to get work done whether I am in the office, at home, or traveling. The user up time is very good. They are rarely doing maintenance when I need to use the platform

Snap Projections - We were using this software up until this year alongside Naviplan to see how it compared. The reason we tried Snap Projections was the difference in pricing. Naviplan is expensive, where Snap is only a fraction of the cost. The biggest reason we stayed with Naviplan was familiarity for the advisor presenting. He was accustomed to it. I find the interface of Naviplan better cosmetically. They both are great financial planning software tools with pros and cons in each. I have found that you can manipulate the software to show most of what you need. Both platforms continually update and take user feedback into consideration when building on to it so they both get better all the time

Better dashboard for Advisors to uncover insights and new investment possibilities and monitor investment allocation strategies that take actions to improve clients' retirement success. The system allows the firm to be more intuitive with integrations, providing the firm the ability to work more efficiently with less downtime compared to the other systems we evaluated

Product is magnitudes more affordable and provides 80% of the functionality that Bloomberg has and is working to build out the remaining. The workstation is more user friendly than bloomberg but still not perfect. Not as robust as a Bloomberg Terminal and doesn't have the chat/trading features.

• Tax calculation of the organization and employees was very difficult, and Navi Plan made is very easy now.
• The introduction of the software makes positive changes in the organization in managing the financial needs, which helps the organization to allocate what is required.
• Employee benefit calculation was a bit difficult and it made a big positive impact.
• It does the job and we get the best for what we pay for.
• If the industry becomes big, then slight changes must be introduced to manage the big data needs.

• hard to quantify, bc i havent brought any new business bc of it, so the ROI would be 0%. I use other systems for proposals.
• However, I use it for everyday work and equity/fi analysis and portfolio construction research at ticker level, and that part works 100%.
