IBM Aspera on Cloud is a great tool for the ones who are looking for a tool which can transfer large datasets, backups, raw files etc., quickly. I think that it is well suited where data transfer at high speed is required and reliability is important. However, it can be less useful for smaller files or data transfer as it can be done with basic tools.

If you have a lot of customers that all need to have a separate place to work in, without the possibility of getting in each other way, and you want to safe yourself a lot of work. Than I strongly recommend you Cloud director. Ofcourse, only if you have a VMware environment as your working environment. If you just have a small group of customers and you can easily handle the work that's coming from it, then it is overkill to add cloud director to your environment. In a later station, you can always introduce cloud director (so tis never to late if you still want to use it)

If you use Axway SecureTransport with their edge server. The system separates your user accounts from the first point of entry into the system. This is done by creating an edge device in your DMZ that acts only as a proxy to the backend ST server.
Their support has been really good when you have a questions or issues with the version you are on. They respond pretty quickly to your open cases.
I also like the fact that their system can be really customizable. This does take a little bit of knowledge of how the system works. I did go to a 4 day class that Axway provided back in version 4.
They support a wide range of security and automation when it comes to sending/receiving files.
They have low CVE vulnerabilities and they keep up with the latest security holes that may arise.
SecureTransport is a pretty solid platform and it's pretty hands off once it's up and running. We did have to tweak a few things regarding the memory allocated to the running services and there are a still few open bugs that are supposed to be released in the next SecureTransport. Those are not causing any issue on our side.
You can create different templates for your HTTPS sites. This is useful if you have different needs for your customers.

Unlike many others , IBM Aspera on Cloud has the ability to transfer large files even upto 100s of GB really quick . The transfers that used to take 5-6 hours or even sometimes failed after waiting that much of time with IMB same files only take like 30 minutes even over long distances .
Not only it transfers data fast , but IBM Aspera on Cloud on cloud also handles inturrpted transfers well even in case of disconnection or bad connection , the platform automatically resumes from where it got paused saving us a lot of time in starting over . This is huge advantage for large files for example when shifting database exports or large technical confirguration bundles from a remote office with bad connection , IBM Aspera on Cloud resumes automatically and dont have to start it over .

I have come a cross several bugs that came up in their new releases, but this is kind of expected given they support a wide range of technologies in terms of B2B transfers or ad-hoc transfers.
Support is sometimes difficult to communicate with just because of them being out of India. They are responsive and know their stuff when it comes to SecureTransport.

The add-on/extension required on the internet browser sometimes are difficult to get working at first. We've experience instances where the add-on/extension latest versions will not work and have to downgrade to an older version.
The server console lacks features and tools. For example it would be useful to have a copy and paste tool or a file upload tool.
The vCloud Director management site uses Adobe Flash, which makes it impossible to use on a mobile device.

The interface is very pleasing and so easy to use. I have never used a program that was so simple and so effective. Other programs have too many unnecessary features and make everything really daunting and then you just go elsewhere. IBM Aspera is perfect for easy transfers with minimal features.

vCloud Director don't have any new feature, my feeling says that vCloud Director not become primary product of VMware, if this happen vCloud Director will be terminated. VMware should provide cloud management platform with agnostic with another virtualization technology example openstack, hyperv also with hyperscaller that will be have good feature

The support from IBM is fast and reliable. Very knowledgeable engineers provide you with the support on Aspera. We had a very good experience when opened tickets and we were able to get our issues resolved quickly. Most solutions are provided within a day so you can expect a quick turnaround time. Overall, the support has been very good.

Suppor Excellent with global support, also collaborate with Global Support, Easy to open case from desktop, Easy to maintenance support, Reachable support with a broadcom, but sadly we suffer for positioning vcloud director right now that we have to collaborate with management. So far good when i get course vcloud director but with limit country for offline class at that time not included with exam so we can't claim any certfication for that (vCloud Director). Its good if this course also available online version so we can join from any place and any time

The service provided by the authorized vendor was excellent. It was a good collaboration between the vendor IT team and internal IT team. They provided us with a timeline and we verified and approved that timeline. Daily stand ups and weekly meetups were conducted to update the internal team on progress. They were able to deliver all deliverables on time also, they conducted both alpha testing and beta version testing in time. Overall, they were able to complete the implementation in the given timeline.

I have not used another product other than SecureTransport. I have only researched to see if there are any alternatives better. Frankly we just don't have the time to invest in switching either. SecureTransport does what it needs to do in our environment.

These cloud storage products deliver sufficient space to store data and access and have an array of ways to transfer this data and keep it secure. IBM Aspera on Cloud focuses on the transfer and makes it a lot faster mainly due to its patented tech and altered UDP protocol. Since most of production code uses IBM services, it was natural to go with IBM Aspera on Cloud.
vCloud Director is definitely my favorite as far as cloud managers. The only thing that compares is Cisco UCS Director, but it has slightly different functionality and purpose. I understand why a lot of clients still go with vCloud Director even though VMware intends to sunset it

It is an outstanding product. It is proven and works well. IBM has thought of everything as the product works well and it can scale. I highly recomend this product.

vcloud director have ui ux user friendy not complex and also can do many task exampe for providing copmpute allocation vcpu , ram and storage, Can Segregation Departement with ala carte virtual machine spesification. Can do dedicated portal for each organization this things to avoid mis provisioning workload virtual machine to another organization

Once the system is set up and operational, the only internal support would be to configure new accounts or research failed transmissions. It's really hands off once you have it up and running. It doesn't require a bunch of support or baby sitting.
We are able to offer new services to our business customers which benefits both sides.
