The best thing about it is the ability to create a query and drill down the data to a more granular level when needed. The best thing about Azure Analysis Services is. It provides secured access anytime from anywhere, it also provides REST API for this, which is very easy to …
Chose Azure Analysis Services
The platform has vast number of features and modules. The UI is sleek and once you get to use to it, you will be able to do a lot of stuff. Also support for data sources is more in Azure Analysis Services.
Chose Azure Analysis Services
We have used the IBM cloud which was truly a specific nightmare for our team. User experience, layout, and design is big for us as it understandably is with many people. Even if any type of program can technically do all that we need it to, we still found our team will not be …
Chose Azure Analysis Services
I had used SAP at a different Organization and the organization where I used Azure Analysis Services was already having it and hence I had to use it. Both have their own sets of pros and cons to look into. To be honest I liked SAP more than Azure Analysis Services
Chose Azure Analysis Services
A different UIUX between both products, but some would say Cloud Platform is easier to be used. Performance-wise both functions to their fullest ability so it boils down to the company's decision to select which products to be implemented. Would definitely not go wrong choosing …

Chose TARGIT
TARGIT seemed to have all the BI tools , but they are not scalable to larger solutions.
Chose TARGIT
Targit's in-memory suite of tools can process data very fast. We selected it for the speed of data processing, and availability of all ETL, cube, and reporting capabilities in the same product.
Chose TARGIT
While their product is top of the line and works very well for us, we ultimately selected Targit because of their team. We love working with them and they are always super helpful. Whenever we have a request or issue, they are there ready to happily help us resolve it and move …
Chose TARGIT
Targit was more expensive, but it was going to be easier for us to add more data sources (Google Analytics in particular) than Jet Reports would have been. I also liked the reporting interface in Targit much better; the ability to click on elements in an object to dynamically …

Chose TARGIT
I have not used any other products. I used to use Jet in Excel to run reports - which took much longer.
Chose TARGIT
TARGIT is as user friendly as SAP BW, and more user friendly than Crystal Reports. The downside of both TARGIT and BW is that you're limited to the data points provided by IT.

Microsoft Azure Analysis Services is best tool which is well suited for many type of scenarios. Like if the organization is dealing with a lot of critical data and need some better analysis and insights for that data then tool serves the best. It helps in depth analysis and getting the desired result which helps in making big decision for any organization. We can create role based access for sensitive data hence it is very helpful for security point of view. Helps in making the business more productive and taking decision based on facts. It is less appropriate for scenarios like where data amount is less and the solution is very costly and someone can get a cheaper solution. Also not suited for environment where user directory do not exist because without the help of user directory role could not be created hence proper utilization of this tool will not be possible.

Overall, TARGIT is a valuable tool, and more and more associates are realizing this every day. It's become our standard for sales reporting. I would recommend the software for use at other companies, and I often encourage fellow associates to gain access and basic training.

Pros
  • You can import data from various sources (i.e. Oracle, Azure SQL...)
  • You can store data models
  • You can elaborate data and create insights
  • Perfect integration with Excel and Power BI

  • The in-memory cube in the Targit suite is an excellent tool that can replace SSAS in theMicrosoft BI suite of tools. InMemory aggregations are lightning-fast compared to Microsoft SSAS.
  • Targit also has a cool HTML5 reporting tool.
  • It is a complete suite of BI tools including ETL, cube and reports.

Cons
  • Microsoft Azure Analysis Services is very costly solution and in that price we can get some better business intelligence tool with lot more of capabilities
  • The dashboard or we can say user interface is complex and need time to understand and gain expertise in order for proper working.
  • It needs continuation monitoring which is sometime a big task.
  • Sometime, the tool shows unusual behavior and become unstable, so we need to clear temp files for proper functioning.

  • I think including the Data Discovery module in the base package instead of charging extra for it would go a long way to making the software better. If you don't have much background with SSIS or SSAS and you do not buy the module, it will be difficult for you to add or modify data sources.
  • There are a couple small tweaks to the interface that would be helpful but are far from necessary. For example, unlike an Excel pivot table, you cannot move the measures above the dimensions in a table interface. There are workarounds for this, however.
  • I understand the need to make their calculation language as complex as it is, but it still seems like it could be made simpler. It's helpful that it comes with several standard calculations that you can easily add to an object, but if you want to modify a calculation or create your own, it can be more complicated than I would like.

Everything on the back end needs to be correct, which sometimes it may not be set up or missing some variables. Some of the more difficult parts of Targit require a lot more attention and object creation to work properly

Make sure all of the back end work is done prior to getting Targit set up. Every variable you may need for calculations needs to be correct and every item needs to be uniform so it is read properly.

We have used the IBM cloud which was truly a specific nightmare for our team. User experience, layout, and design is big for us as it understandably is with many people. Even if any type of program can technically do all that we need it to, we still found our team will not be as motivated or satisfied using it compared to something more visually appealing and smooth.

Return on Investment
  • Website analytics; We have realized so many benefits like traffic analysis, CRM, click-through funnels, and many more.
  • Aas allows us to do complex calculations and aggregations at slight efforts. It accommodates DAX expression, which in return is simple to apply.

  • It really has answered questions during decision-making conversations where a task item would have been created with days of turnaround time instead of getting the necessary information within minutes during that same conversation.
  • Unified Reporting that maintains in alignment with business needs.
