Overall Satisfaction with Azure Analysis Services

Microsoft Azure Analysis Services is among one of the most helpful and advanced business intelligence tool. This solution is offered as a platform as a service. It is packed with great features and functionalities which makes the business more productive and drives the revenue growth as many critical decision are based on the analysis of this service. The solution can be integrated with different types of Azure services which makes our work easier. We use this tool for different type of use cases like providing secure access, analyzing data, getting insights, providing role based access, depth analysis of data and for other data related use cases. The tool has proved it's worth and never disappointed us.

Pros

  • Providing role based access or we can say privilege based on the role to the user if it is integrated with Azure active directory and hence securing the access to sensitive data.
  • We use to run different type of analytics services to get the better result which is hectic if done manually or with human efforts.
  • We also use to collect bulk of data with the help of this tool and run customized test cases for better efficiency of result and better decision making. The result are very crucial and helps in taking big decision.
  • It supports different or we can say heterogeneous database vendors like the Oracle, SQL, and hence make the task easy.

Cons

  • Microsoft Azure Analysis Services is very costly solution and in that price we can get some better business intelligence tool with lot more of capabilities
  • The dashboard or we can say user interface is complex and need time to understand and gain expertise in order for proper working.
  • It needs continuation monitoring which is sometime a big task.
  • Sometime, the tool shows unusual behavior and become unstable, so we need to clear temp files for proper functioning.
  • The tool has helped us a lot for taking critical decision which has resulted in the increase of profit of organization by 18 percent.
  • Return on investment is 70 percent as we are unable to utilize the tool with full functionalities, so we are still testing some of the use cases.
  • Human effort has been reduced and task has become automated hence helped in cost management

Microsoft Azure Analysis Services is best tool which is well suited for many type of scenarios. Like if the organization is dealing with a lot of critical data and need some better analysis and insights for that data then tool serves the best. It helps in depth analysis and getting the desired result which helps in making big decision for any organization. We can create role based access for sensitive data hence it is very helpful for security point of view. Helps in making the business more productive and taking decision based on facts. It is less appropriate for scenarios like where data amount is less and the solution is very costly and someone can get a cheaper solution. Also not suited for environment where user directory do not exist because without the help of user directory role could not be created hence proper utilization of this tool will not be possible.
