Azure Backup

Azure Backup is suitable for companies of various sizes, with varying amounts of data. The cost of the investment should be thought out carefully so that there are no bad surprises with unnecessary files going to Azure Backup. The interface is friendly and easy to configure and it does not require your company to have a backup expert. It is highly recommended for companies with smaller number of servers and better if the servers are already running in an Azure environment.

MediaFire

MediaFire is a great cloud storage platform for individual users or specific departments to use. There isn't enough enterprise management tools for MediaFire to be used in larger companies that need to control the tools that their end-users are using. Setting up the MediaFire cloud platform is pretty straightforward so you don't necessarily need a dedicated storage team to get it up and running and do day-to-day administration.

Pros

Azure Backup

  • Microsoft products (especially Azure) integration (Windows/Azure SQL instances).
  • Easy to implement and to administer.
  • Friendly interface, compatible to Azure visual identity.
  • Easy to back up and restore.
  • Relatively good backup performance.

MediaFire

  • FileDrop feature. This is an amazing functionality that increases collaboration among our team. People can drop files in a specific folder related to a project and we can keep it organized.
  • Mobile Apps for Android and iOS. The apps works pretty well and you can carry your files everywhere.
  • Regular and Instant Uploads - MediaFire checks for the exact same file in the cloud. If it finds it, the upload will be instant. Otherwise, it proceeds with regular upload.
  • Multiple Upload Types - Basic, Flash and HTML5

Cons

Azure Backup

  • There are more features than you need, just learn how to do it.
  • Really, it is constantly being developed, so I don't think of anything.

MediaFire

  • Its basic free features are limited and free storage space should be increased from 10GB.
  • We cannot set file encryption so it can’t be considered as a secure application.
  • There are a lot of ads coming that are always annoying and also cause a security issue.

One of the differentials of the solution is the high level of guarantee and support of the Azure Backup solution. Microsoft is a reference in a technology company with a highly trained support team and helps us with any questions or technical problems with the tool. Service is fast and efficient with trained engineers.

Azure Backup

Azure Backup is based on the most secure and encrypted cloud storage facility available...Microsoft. They have been doing this a long time and have ironed out all the kinks, leaving only the good and dependable solution in place. Azure Backup is fast also, you do not have major delays and internet throttling happening from Microsoft, unlike nearly all other competitors. Have you ever tried downloading a backup you have in the cloud from any solution other than Microsoft Azure Backup? If you have, you know they throttle the speed drastically and it could take you more than an hour to restore just 100mb of data. Most server backups are over 50 GB, some of mine are over 1.5 TB. With those slow speeds it could take weeks to recover your system just because you are waiting on the download to finish. Those companies then offer to send you an external drive with your data on it...but for a major price tag! You should not have to pay extra to get your data back and should not have to wait more than an hour to get it all downloaded either. Microsoft does not throttle Azure Backup downloads and I can almost guarantee that they have faster speeds than you have, meaning that you will be able to download at your maximum internet speeds and recover your systems quickly!

MediaFire

Mediafire needs to improve the end user usability and design. The file encryption at rest and transfer needs to be available which is a default feature in most cloud based storage providers. 3rd party integration needs to improved like outlook etc for ease of file storage and access. The large file allowance ranks above other providers.

Return on Investment

Azure Backup

  • The ability to provide customers with peace of mind that their VM's are protected.
  • Low cost as you only pay for the storage.

MediaFire

  • It has a great impact on any business when it comes to having a backup. Your data is safe and easily accessible. It offers multiple options for branding, good analytics, and distribution through direct linking.
  • Mediafire Mobile is, I believe, the best option, as I can access my data anytime and anywhere without any hassle.
  • Overall, it impacts businesses in a positive way.
