Cerner Millennium vs. LeonardoMD (Discontinued)

Cerner allows us to access and enter all the information that is needed to take care of the participants. It is not really geared for the research environment. There was a lot of customization that was needed to tailor it to our needs. There is turnover with staff in Cerner and when there were some downtimes Cerner staff did not know who to contact at our facility, eventhough the information was shared with them already.

I would not tell my Real Estate client about this but as we know it is called LeonardoMD for a reason. I did a demo on a product a year back that offers way more automated emailing reminders for patients and I think that LeonardoMD would improve if it could offer emails and texts that could auto send reminders to patients for the appointments.

There are times when it is very useful and yet there are times when it is more cumbersome than it has to be. The day to day operations are user friendly, but when there are upgrades there are times when it does not always work well for a small facility

Cerner Millennium is a more established company and we wanted the confidence of a company that will have a very long shelf life. Now since it is part of Oracle Health, that confidence has been reinforced. The support system was greater from Cerner than it was from Evident and the larger staff gave us more reassurance to use it

I normally would use Leonardo with ACT now Sage I think. The reason for the 2 used together is the lack of email automated systems that Leo did not have. I am not sure if they have it now. But it is nice to have detailed notes and user fields that can be edited like Sage (ACT) allows. It was also nice to have the counselor able send emails and the ACT software keep track of the email in the history section

• Upkeep and maintenance costs are high.
• For better performance and configuration options, it is cheaper than competitors.
